| Once all the loads are in, the brakemen walk down to the plant switch engine and move it over the other track. The switch crew backs down and grabs one empty and puts it in the parking lot. If they have more than four empties, they will stop in the middle and push the ones in the parking lot across the street before going in for the rest. | ||||||||||||
| The plant switcher appears to be in reasonable condition. It looks like a SW600 but is impossible to tell as there are no builders plates or other identification. The paint scheme is reminiscent of the former Frisco colors. Obviously, with CELX reporting marks, it is a leased unit. | ||||||||||||
| The cab is very spartan and reflects the environment it's used in: dusty. There is only a very basic assortment of gauges for air pressures and of course the ampmeter. The usual switches for lights, cab heat and bell are there as well. Notice it even has ditch lights! The trucks are AAR Type 1 from two different foundries. One is marked for EMD, the other for General Steel Castings. Beyond that, it is unremarkable. Except for the fact that I have unlimited access to it! | ||||||||||||
