Road Trip to Montana! December 2000
Today's power for the Gas Local
Today there were four units on. An SD45, SD19 and an ????. Plenty of power for the short train of only 25 Gas Cans. Note the boxcar used as a buffer between the hazardous loads and the engine.
Chasing was fairly easy but I had to hustle along as he doesn't waste any time. This was a nice shot from an overpass in Schilling.
A little more hustle got me far enough ahead of the local to catch this manifest heading east at Huson. Two porches and an Oakway. I wish the weather was like this all the time!
This was almost the entire reason for going to Montana: Semaphores! These former NP signals are disappearing fast as the MRL signal crews upgrade to color light units all along this route. I love this picture taken near Donlan.
More Fun to Come..
