Flying the AT-6 Texan 1

Sometimes great opportunities pop up in unexpected places. Case in point: While Lin was checking into the hotel, Dad and I were searching the tourist brochure rack for someplace to play golf in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. I came across one for "Warbird Adventures, Inc" that offered flights in an AT-6 Texan trainer. It wasn't far to where they were located in Geneseo, so I gave them a call. Needless to say, I made the short trip over and took the plunge (figuratively!). No complaints here, I got an hour at the stick of a 58 year old classic aircraft. Did some mild aerobatics and flew among the clouds. It was a great time, including the barfing!
And yes, I'd do it again.

		Warbird Adventures, Inc. is based out of Kissimmee, Florida during the winter months. For the summer they head north to various locations to offer flights to the snowbound.
