As usual no pictures of the event until I get home. But let me assure you it was an event none the less. Let's start with 20 minutes after we leave the swap meet when this horrible grinding noise begins emanating from my front end. This plagued us for the first 150 miles of the journey home until we diagnosed it as the hubs for the 4WD not holding out. Simple solution...drive the truck 700 miles home in 4WD.

I do have a shot of the Peach Beast on the trailer though. The paint is a little rough but it'll do.

Lots of original paint even though it's heavily faded. There is a lot of the original striping left and the decals are identifiable as well.

The engine has a few unusual features on it that may indicate it is an early Model "U". The stubby compression release is unusual on later "U"s and "UA"s. I've not seen the angled grease lines on the gears anywhere either. But the most obvious hint is the builders tag, it indicates a "T" serial number in the 5000 series. The actual number puts it in the very early "U" production, and the crank stamped number matches up so we're good to go. Nice cast iron crank guard too.

I'll leave it as is and put a little elbow grease into cleaning it up. She'll be ready for Rough & Tumble in August hopefully.
