Cold fun as we head for the marina.

All that spinning hardware leaves quite a wake. This is actually a shot from the fantail of the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in the Chicago River.

Lots of rail activity along the way. Most of it is on drawbridges of various designs.

When we arrived at the Cal Sag channel, I took the helm and motored on. The boat drives very easily. Trimming is easy courtesy of trim tabs and the trim cylinders on the outdrives. it was pretty chilly so we put up the windshield. Brrr.

To get back into Lake Michigan we needed to go through the O'Brien Locks just south of Hammond. A radio call to the lock tender said we'd have to wait a few before he could get us in. So we pulled in at a convenient marina and went in for a soda.

We were the only one in the locks so we free-floated along. The change in level is barely a couple inches so it's not a long drop.

We finally found our way over to Hammond and tied up for the day. So far so good. Keep an eye out for more pictures here as we get the hang of this thing.
