Off to our new moorage
The time had arrived and it was time to move our new family member to its new home in Hammond.
At last!
Ta-da! it floats!
Now that it was where it belonged we could finally move it to the marina. We topped off the fuel tank (ouch) and tied it up for the night. Saturday would be moving day.
Mike and Marcy with the floating money sponge. Mike with his bilge rat mechanic.
Marcy and Mike pose for a moment in the upper left.  They are relieved to have it in the water finally.  At right, Mike poses with his bilge rat mechanic after a full day in the engine compartment.  Mike thought it was the least he could do to let the guy have his picture taken with the boat.
Underway at last. Donna Jean passes to Starboard.
Saturday at noon the "Cruisinart" gets underway.  Mike takes the helm first and we head downriver.  We opted to go the long way around west through the Chicago Ship and Sanitary Canal and then back east through the Cal Sag.  This would bring us out near the marina in Hammond.  Lots to see and before long we passed a barge headed upriver.

All kinds of sights to see
